A preacher or evangelist is a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus Christ (Eph 4:11; 2 Tim 4:1-5). In New Testament times, the evangelist was willing to preach publicly and “from house to house” (Acts 5:42). To do the work of an evangelist (2 Tim 4:5) is to declare the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), to proclaim the “good news” of the kingdom of heaven (Acts 28:30-31), and to speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15).
My name is Andy Brenton. I was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. Following High School I enlisted in the Marine Corp and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. Upon coming back home to Indiana I married the love of my life, the former Dawn Winn, in July 1999. She attended Indiana University in Kokomo, IN, and has family that live in Florida. We have three children together: Alec (2002), Aden (2004), and Ava (2008).
I’ve been a Christian since February 2001. I got my first experience in public speaking at the Westfield church of Christ in Westfield, IN where I was given the opportunity to present short Wednesday night talks. It was not long before I started teaching Bible classes and preaching by appointment for several churches in central Indiana. Following several years in a technology career and after attending a Preacher Training Program in 2009, I decided to commit myself full-time to the work of an evangelist.
I am now blessed to serve as the preacher for the Westside church of Christ in Casey, IL. Prior to moving to Casey, my family and I lived in Dade City, Fl. and worked with the Trilacoochee church of Christ. Prior to my preaching work in Florida, my family and I lived in Fayetteville, GA and worked with the South Fayette church of Christ. Prior to my preaching in Georgia, my family and lived in Noblesville, IN and I preached for the Westside church of Christ in Peru, IN.
I have been preaching for over fifteen years, with speaking engagements all over the United States. In my work at Westside I teach public and private Bible classes, preach sermons every week, and provide counseling for church members who are struggling with spiritual challenges. I am always happy to hear your feedback or take questions you have about the Bible-based work going on at Westside!
